Hello everyone,
As some of you know, I really suck at marketing.
My booking agent says so too. Yes i found a booking agency, you can check it here http://www.bpmstaff.net/
So following their advice, I posted some pics.
You can find them here, here and here :)
Maybe I should post some news more often.
But next month, I will have a surprise for you; Even if you are only 3 people to read :p
Until then, keep dancing :)

News
Hello all,
Long time no post :)
I was a bit busy as I moved back to live in France. Things like job-seeking, flat hunting and so on...
This part is done, I had time to record a quick mix you can listen to here.
I will finally have more time to focus on production. I may collaborate with some old friends, but it's a surprise.
The biggest challenge tho is too find some local gigs. As French DJ in France, it will be difficult to get anything without being famous. Everything works with contacts and as usual, most of clubs are top charts based. It will probably take me a few months before I got lucky.
Until something nice happens....
Bonne soirée!
Below a picture I took in my new city Lyon.

Hi all,
This time I'm posting to share with you some free music.
it's something I created 6 months ago.of coruse I did not use any sample.
Still it's not very good but I'm improving a lot in music production.
I hope it will keep you busy for few minutes.
Right now it is a bit quiet for me but soon, I feel things will get better. Not easy to be a blogger :)
Enjoy life until the next post with more music!

More about Munich
Hello all,
Right now I'm in Aix-en-Provence, France, my hometown in order to focus in music production.
So April is a quiet month of learning.... Don't hesitate to share any Ableton tips and tricks.
By the way I found two new gigs in Prague, Czech Republic in Pekelnej and Palac Akropolis.
Enough with self advertising, here is a video of the DJ who played after me the 3rd of March in Grinsekatze Munich. You can see we are closing the club but people won't leave, it is a very good set he did :)
Enjoy
If you like him here are more information about Monometrique
Until next post, take care!

Munich
Sorry for the delay since the last post, but I was short on time.
After the gig in Berlin, I moved by train to Munich.
I was really surprised to find out 2 local DJs waiting for me with a sign with my name on it at the train station. Then Taxi, free pizza, and discussing the kind of music I should play @ Grinsekatze.
22.15 we went there for Sound check.
23.00 The club opens but I start at 2.30 until 4.30, so basically, the main act.
The crowd was really awesome :)
I will post some videos and and pictures as soon as I get my camera back :)
They said they recorded my set, so I cannot wait to listen to it. But it went very well.
Thanks Germany!

Quick description of Berlin
Berlin was a very strange place. I took some time to look around and I noticed the big difference between the rich West and the alternative East, like this wall was still here, invisible, 23 years after its destruction.
However, I met really nice people and got involved in a Vokü which is a kind of illegal community center where I ate for 2 euros some vegetarian food.
For info, Vokü Vo = Volks, Kü = Küche (Kitchen for the People). Thanks to Martin for the explanation.
The gig at Sanatorium did not go too well, as I don´t know what to play when it is a place where people are coming for hanging out before going to big clubs. I played with my friend Tetro from 9pm to 2am and moved to this underground community center where they organized a party for charity purpose. Drinks were around 1,20 euros so very cheap :)
I could have played for fun from 8am but I had my train to Munich at 1am the same day, so I kept my energy, and believe me, it was worth it :) I will post some random pics from Berlin soon.
To be continued...

Arrival at Berlin
I managed to find a gig the Friday 2nd of March at Sanatorium23, Berlin in Germany.
I have never been there, so let´s check the reviews from Qype.com
The nice thing here is: everything is very relaxed. Because there’s no service walking around, you can sit in peace and enjoy the chilled music. When DJs play, one Euro from your first drink goes to the DJ. The food menu is a downloadable periodic table but also hung up at the bar. The crowd is mixed, somewhat gay, also a little bit sceney from first impressions, but both unobtrusive. Those who like the red-white not only on their chips but also on interior decoration will come here often. You can also lie down…
Berlin is supposed to be the the Mecca of techno and EDM music.
That´s a great challenge as the public is very picky compared to some other European countries (Ireland I talk about you).
Just a last thing for today, when I took the S-Bahn (city train), I could not stop thinking about this scene from Berlin Calling :
Enjoy!

Nice bar with delicious juices, good beer and friendly people. You can have some privacy by closing the curtains around your hospital beds ;) At weekends they sometimes have excellent DJs playing.
It seems that Sanatorium23 used to be a psychiatric hospital before becoming a bar/club as described here:

Let’s get
it started
You know how in the movies, when the main character is a completely unknown musician, artist or deejay, struggling to make it big, he or she always becomes successful and famous in the end, or at least plays a breakthrough gig, or signs an important contract or something? Well, in real life it almost never happens. In real life you may start nowhere, work hard and in the end be back to where you started. And yet, as most people with passion would tell you (be it a passion for music, art or films), you just can’t stop trying, believing and hoping that one day you’ll get there.
My name is Said a.k.a. FunkyPeanut (that’s my deejay name), I’m 30 years
old and I’ve been deejaying for the last four years. I’ve played in Oslo, Munich,
Prague, Dublin, Aix-en-Provence and New York. But until now I’ve been following
my passion more as a side project, while working a day job which I’m good at
but which brought me none of the satisfaction that music brought me. So I
decided to stop wasting my life on things I don’t enjoy and dedicate myself to
music. I gave up my well-paying job and
from now will dedicate my life to writing and recording music, playing gigs all
around Europe (and beyond), and working as waiter or shop assistant to make a
living. This blog is meant to serve as a journal of my travels and adventures.
Here I will post everything, from
photographs and stories to my new tracks and videos of my gigs. The list of
places and dates of my next sets will be also posted here.
I know this road is not going to be easy, but sometimes challenges are
needed to keep us pushing head. I invite you to take this journey with me and
let’s see where it takes us!
